Still Just Singin' the Blues · 4 July 2003

We’ll start out jammin’ rock and roll – how ‘bout some “Back in Black”
Then someone will play the baseline from Michael Jackson’s “Bad”
We’ll play a little Elvis and a country song or two
But when my guitar starts to playin’ it plays songs about you
And all it wants to play is the blues.

Chorus 1:
     Play that melody
     Play it loud and strong
Then add a little bass line
We’ll play it all night long
     Play some rock, some country,
     Or some “Blue Suede Shoes”
But by the time we finish
We’ll all be playin’ the blues.
     No matter what we’re playin’
     We’re still playin’ the blues

We’ll sing a little gospel with four-part harmony
Then someone will bust out with a solo or three
But as the night goes on my heart starts singin’ too
And all it wants to do is sing about you
Then all I want to sing is the blues

Chorus 2:
     Sing that melody
     Sing it loud and strong
     Then add a little harmony
We’ll sing it all night long
     Sing some rock, some country,
     Or some “Blue Suede Shoes”
But by the time we finish
We’ll all be singin’ the blues.
     No matter what we’re singin’
     We’re still singin’ the blues

When I sit down with my guitar to write a country song
Sometimes I have to sit there and write it all night long
But no matter what I’m writin’, my mind always turns to you
Then every word I write is all about you
And all I want to write is the blues.

Chorus 2

Still Gentle on My Mind · 3 July 2003

Glen Campbell sang of livin’ life with gentle on his mind
And John Denver sang; he sang of that rocky mountain high
But me, I like to sing about living life with no regrets
Because so far I’ve had a life; a life that I never can forget

Chorus:
     Gentle on my mind
     Gets sweeter with time
     Gentle on my mind
     Livin’ life so fine

Life is so sweet and I can’t help but lovin’ every day
And I thank God for blessing me every time I kneel down to pray
For the happiness and sadness for the joy and yes, for the despair
They all make life worth living and give me a reason to care

Chorus

I’m gonna sing about goodness and badness and everything between
They all bring joy to livin’ if you know what I mean
So when I sing a sad song know that I am still lovin’ life
‘Cause it wouldn’t be worth living but for all the struggle and the strife

Chorus

So let Glen Campbell keep singing of livin’ life with gentle on his mind
And we can still remember John Denver’s Rocky Mountain High
But I’ll keep singin’ of livin’ life with no regrets
And I’ll keep on livin’ a life that no one will forget.

Chorus

Bring Me Back to Jesus · 2 July 2003

I was wandering
And I couldn’t find my way
It was so dark
     And I stumbled every day
Then I saw the light
     Shining from Your face
Jesus
How I long for Your embrace

Chorus (two times):
     Bring me back to Jesus
Bring me back to the One whom I adore
          I am so lost
I can’t find my way back home

There are times in life
When I wander; when I stray
Then I realize
     That I need you everyday
You take me back
     Time and time again
Jesus
Help me not leave you again

Chorus
